The best way to enjoy an active retirement in an independent living centre in Tulsa, OK is to make sure you’re doing things you love. The city is home to some of the most beautiful architecture in the country, so it’s no surprise that there are so many ways to celebrate Christmas. From seeing Christmas lights at an outdoor parade to watching a gingerbread house competition, these are some of my favorite ways to enjoy Tulsa during this festive season.
Christmas-Lighted Parade
The Christmas-Lighted Parade is an annual event that takes place in December. The parade begins at 7 pm and lasts about two hours, making it a great option for those who want to enjoy the holiday season but don’t have time to stay up late on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
The parade begins at Mohawk Park, where attendees can gather around the stage and watch performances from local high schools and dance groups before heading out onto the streets of Tulsa for over 30 floats featuring lights, music, and more!
Tulsa Zoo Lights
Tulsa Zoo Lights is a holiday festival that takes place at the Tulsa Zoo in December. The event includes over 1 million lights, live entertainment, food vendors, and activities for children. The zoo will be open until 10 pm on select nights during this period, so you can enjoy the festivities without worrying about getting home late at night!
Holiday Festival On The Green
The Holiday Festival On The Green is an annual event in Tulsa, OK. It’s a great way to celebrate the holidays with family and friends and get into the spirit of things!
The festival has been going on for over 30 years, so it has a lot of history behind it. It started as a small community party where everyone could come together to celebrate Christmas before heading to their homes for dinner or opening presents with their families later in the day. Nowadays though? Well…it’s still awesome!
The Gingerbread Trail
The Gingerbread Trail is a 1.5-mile walk through the woods, with over 40 houses built by local artists and decorated with holiday themes. The trail begins at the Tulsa Zoo and winds through Cascia Hall Park before ending at the River Spirit Casino Resort, where there’s a festive gathering of Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, elves, and reindeer waiting for you!
Holiday Event At A Local Botanical Garden
The holiday season in Tulsa, OK, is a time to gather with family, friends, and loved ones. If you’re looking for an activity that will help bring people together while allowing everyone to enjoy the great outdoors, consider heading out to a local botanical garden. These gardens are great places to walk around and see all kinds of plants and flowers that grow in Oklahoma.
If you’re looking for something more structured than just wandering around aimlessly on your own two feet (and getting lost), plenty of guided tours are available at most botanical gardens as well! This will give you insight into how everything works behind the scenes and give everyone else something interesting about which they can talk afterwards.
Holiday Art Festival At Local Convention Center
The Holiday Art Festival at the Tulsa Convention Center is a great way to enjoy some time with your family and a chance to get out of the house. This event features artists from all over Oklahoma who come together to display their work in their booths. There are paintings, sculptures, pottery pieces, and more at this event that can be purchased by anyone looking for something new for their home or office space.
