Parties and celebrations are a lot of fun, usually offering great food, bringing people who may not have seen each other in a while together, and are generally a fantastic opportunity for socialization. Many take place in rented halls, hotel conference rooms, dining areas, etc. What’s one sure way to make a party even better than it may already promise to be? Take it outside.
In case you’re planning an outdoor activity, we are going to introduce you to a number of popular parks in Broken Arrow, OK. Keep your eye on the weather and have a backup plan just in case mother nature decides to infringe on everyone’s enjoyment. Rain and strong winds can put a real damper on a party. If it’s going to be hot, make sure you find a shady area and offer plenty of fluids.
Now let’s get to those parks.
The Liberty Parkway Trail
Extending roughly 9 1/2 miles through the city, this paved, beautiful trail starts at Garnett Road (if you’re going west to east). If you’re familiar with the Creek Turnpike South Loop, you will be able to envision this winding trail alongside it. Northeastern State University is the finishing point. Get all the “walkers” in your group together for an afternoon of exercise and socialization. Walk as much or as little as you please.
Rose West Dog Park
If you have friends with pets (dogs), this is an awesome place to get together for some fun and conversation while the dogs romp. This park is built for off-leash small and large dogs, offering 10.6 acres. So your canine companions can all play together safely, the area is enclosed. Seating is available as well as water fountains and restrooms.
Challenger Sports Complex
An adaptive turf field – as well as four adult softball fields – are just part of this state-of-the-art complex. Some of the outstanding features include paved parking, restrooms, outdoor and indoor seating, concessions, LED field lighting, and covered stands. This is a great place for families to gather or for your retiree softball team to play.
Nienhuis Skate Park
Once again, if the grandchildren will be accompanying you, bringing them here could be a real feather in your cap. Truth be told, anyone can have fun here, regardless of skill level. Beginners, pros, and everything in between can have a great time. You’ll also have fun as a spectator, watching all the action.
