North Richland Hills offers everyone access to attractions and nature right here with its more than 800 acres of parkland. All of the natural areas offer a respite from a busy and chaotic world, while the picnic pavilions make the perfect location for various activities. On one of the numerous sporting fields, take in a baseball or soccer game, or teach a youngster how to fish at one of the fishing ponds. The North Richland Hills parks are the ideal vacation spot for the whole family because there is so much to see and do there.

Ace Park
Ace Park, a 1.6-acre community park established in 2007, bears Ace Nace’s name, a former mayor of North Richland Hills. The park has a playground, swings, and a half-court basketball court in addition to hopscotch, games on the sidewalk, chess tables, and open play spaces. I LUV NYC, a 20-panel painting by Michael Longhofer, pays a colossal homage to the Big Apple and gives the park’s surroundings an urban feel.
Adventure World Park
In 1994, community volunteers helped build the fully accessible Adventure World Playground, which the City of North Richland Hills entirely refurbished in 2014. Children of all ages may enjoy the park’s shady play structures with a wooded theme. Additionally, there are paths, an observation point, a boardwalk for a woods trip, chairs, picnic tables, and bathrooms.
The Adventure World Playground Pavilion is first-come, first-served, and cannot be booked.
In 2022, Joe Barrington’s sculpture Armadillo was moved to Adventure World. It is a manually crafted artwork made of discarded steel that has been fused together and is based on the notion that everything in Texas is “bigger than life”. It measures 5 feet tall, 5 feet broad, and 9 feet long.
Clyde Zellers Park
In honor of the previous mayor of North Richland Hills, Clyde Zellers, Snow Heights Elementary School is home to the 5.19-acre community park known as Clyde Zellers Park. After school and on weekends and holidays, the park is open to the public. There includes a walking track, a playground with swings, a covered pavilion with seating and tables, practice fields, and open play spaces.
Pinwheel, a work of art by David Hickman, is also present in this park. Three dynamic whirligigs create a sculpture ballet by acting like weather vanes. The curving tubes that connect the pinwheels to the picture disks remind me of shooting stars.
Cross Timbers Park
In addition to lighting youth baseball fields, toilets, concession stands, a playground, picnic shelters, and both paved and unpaved hike and bike routes, Cross Timbers Park is a 100.8-acre neighborhood park. A significant portion of the park’s land is set aside as a preserve, which is home to numerous birds and other animals.
Faram Park
Dick Faram, a former mayor of North Richland Hills, is honored with the 7-acre neighborhood park known as Faram Park. The park features a playground with shade, swings, a picnic area, practice fields, and open play areas. The Cotton Belt Trail and Walker’s Creek Trail are connected to the park’s walking path. Sepp Aarnos’ sculpture Family Train, made of Cor-Ten steel, features a metal family enjoying a day in the park.
